With its convenient and intuitive user interface you can quickly find and retrieve country information. Comprehensive almanac with statistics, flags, population, languages, religion, monetary units, history, culture, geography and economy for all countries of the world. <br /> Up-to-date country maps are available with zooming functionality. <br /> Limit your search by pressing a phone keys and filtering the country list to the country you are looking for."<br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/altasce.gif" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />This looks like a pretty cool application. It looks like the developer has coded the country entry method to work in the same fashion as the Smartphone's contact search. So to get Canada you would enter 226232. Very cool. 8) <br /><br />You can download a trial version or purchase a copy for only $12.95 <a href="http://www.smartphone.net/smartphonethoughts/software_detail.asp?id=502">here</a>. [Affiliate]

Tried it on my i600 because the website said it worked on the i600 but apparently it requires Smartphone 2003.
1. It will not allow me to uninstall? Any ideas about how to lose this? :?:
2. This is another in a growing number of new programs that those of us who supported the early version of the Smartphone are being left behind. Unless Verizon/Samsung update us I'm going to feel abused.

Sorry to hear that. I know if uses the .NET Compact Framework, so maybe it isn't the 2002 OS, but the lack of .NET, which I think can be installed onto your device.

Good idea. I manually deleted all the files and the start-up menu reference. However I might try your idea since I'd like to have this.
We early adaptors really deserve Smartphone 2003.....

.NET CF cannot be installed on Smartphone 2002 devices. It can be installed on Pocket PC 2002 devices.

Robert is right. The program can run on the devices running SmartPhone 2003 only. Unfortunatelly it is impossible to change the list of compatible devices on Handango to reflect smartphones running 2003 only. I contacted them 2 days ago on the possibility fixing that, but haven't gotten any response yet.
Thanks... Alex

I think the problem is Handango was not designed for the complex combinations of devices and operators which currently exist - in PDA terms its a simple matter of device types, with Smartphones some devices might have the same hardware but different software support depending on the operator settings. Hopefully they will improve the process soon.
The application works great on the Orange SPV E200 Smartphone 2003 device - very neat application!

So this data is copied from the CIA World Factbook web page which is o.k since the CIA say that "The Factbook is in the public domain. Accordingly, it may be copied freely without permission of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)."
But would someone tell me HOW this is being made available for the smartphone platform? Is this what Net.cf can do? If so can anyone with a bit of programming experience do the same for other non-copyrighted static web sites? Techies tell me more!
