Buffering Problem in Media Player

Help! I've downloaded (using windows media player 9 variable bit rate) a bunch of songs to my 512mb pny sd card, and several of them 'skip' multiple times during playback (the player says 'buffering'). I shut down all other apps and it still happens, and the phone indicates I have 12mb in program memory available.

Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? It is so common that the playback feature is becoming useless.

I think this happens when the songs are too high a bit rate. I've noticed this on files that are encoded at 192. Try something smaller and see if that fixes things.

i tried recording from my computer down to my sd card at 128, and that didnt help...
