bit of a rant following below - sorry....

Now wouldn't be great to buy this phone directly from the vendor as soon as they ship it/make it availble? Why are we, the consumers, forced to wiat months before the carriers put it through their paces, customize the pee out of it and tweak (limit) features on it?

Allow me, the end user, to select the phone I want and the carrier I want -separately! It will be my responisblity to insure that I buy a phone (hardware) that meets the carrier requirements - signal type.

But no... We'll have to wait months and the phone that they will be ready to ship in the early summer will mean that it will probably be Q1 of 05 before we the consumers see the dang phone on the market...

On topic:

Good that hardware vendors are stepping up to the plate and using the smartphone OS - proving that it can strength the model (rant) that I think MS would like to see (above).
