DeveloperOne has done it again creating the best calendar for the Smartphone platform bar none. This is a must have application in my books. <br /><br />You can <a href="http://www.handango.com/brainstore/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=311&productId=111227">purchase it for $19.95 USD</a>. I installed the demo and was generally impressed. However, I'm not going to purchase this app, for a variety of reasons. The biggest having to do with the integration of contacts with the calendar function.
While I think this integration is the biggest benefit of the app, it has one serious shortcoming for me. I have over four hundred contacts, so scrolling through them all to add a name/number is too painful to put up with. Perhaps I'm missing something, but if they had put in the look-up functionality that the built-in Contacts app has it would have been a benefit instead of a nice but only half thought out feature.
Please correct me if I'm wrong and just couldn't figure out how to work this feature.

Well, it's not the same search functionality, but you can use the keypad to jump around.
2 = Top of the list
0 = Bottom of the list
5 = Page Up
8 = Page down

The "search" feature is going to be in one of the next releases according to the devopler. Buy it now and get the free upgrade when it comes out. It is too useful not to enjoy.

Have I missed something, or isn't there a setting that makes Power Calendar "default" calendar like you could with Agenda Fusion (I'm a PPC user too)?
When I'm on the home screen and press my next appointment, I just get the built in calendar... is there a setting I've missed, or is there way to change this in the XML (I have a custom home screen that I've partially buildt my self)?
Other than that I love it so far, but if this isn't possible I'm not sure if I'll buy it in 14 days when the trial expires...

Where do you guys find that "contact integration"? I feel I'm missing something!? Where can you add contacts to an appointment?

In the New Appointment field, hit the action key, brings up contacts, select contact and select ok again. Terrific for making appointments on the run. Also use the text feature to select the type of appointment. There are so many features in this software that it takes a bit of exploring to find them all.
