Connecting To Work E-Mail Via Dial Up?????

So far I never even get connected. I hear the modem ring and pick up but it never connects. Has anyone else had this issue?

Are you trying to use the phone as a modem with a laptop? I check my work email, but I do it through a POP account on the phone itself.

I am trying to direct connect the phone to my work e-mail via IMAP4. I still do not have the laptop cord yet because both online and my local store were out. I have my Bellsouth network connection working fine but do not want to check my POP3 account with the phone. Thanks for the reply.
