There are several developers who have working PPC versions of MAME with fully opensource code. If you do, let me know. MAME on Smartphone would kick serious as$!

There are two problems with MAME running on SmartPhone:

1) MAME's performance is dismal and with the SmartPhone, you need all the performance you can get.

2) The resolution of the SmartPhone display is lower than all video games ever made. The solution is to reduce the image size by 75% (e.g. 224 x 288 -> 168 x 216).

I am currently working on a version of my emulator which runs on the SmartPhone. I implemented a very efficient image shrink routine which looks reasonable (image attached). My code runs at full frame rate with 44Khz sound and many games (such as PacMan, Pooyan, Pengo) run at full speed on my MPx200. I may attempt to publish this code if there is enough interest.

Please let me know your opinions about the image quality. I realize it looks a bit blurry, but that is what happens when each group of 8x8 pixels gets squished into a group of 6x6 pixels.

Ya, they seem a little blurry, but that's understandable. Looks very cool.

Games look awsome! ;)

I'm all for the oldies! I just got the Audiovox SMT5600 and would love to MAME around on during my commute! (via train).
