There's a ton of great information here - it's a highly recommended read for developers interested in .NET and Smartphones. This article covers:
Developing Phone Applications—key aspects of Smartphone application development
User Interface Design—available controls and best practices for use
Application Data Storage—managing XML files and registry
Using XML Web services—consuming XML Web services
Packaging for Distribution—distributing Smartphone applications
Enterprise Application Scenarios—relevant scenarios where Smartphone applications provide value to businesses The sample code for this article has tons of useful things in it including a custom control which does automatic "paging" (like the Programs menu) and a snippet to programmatically set the device's input mode to numeric.
