(MOT), Panasonic, and China's Konka Group Co. (000016.SZ) and Haier Group. Smith Barney initiated coverage of Compal Communications stock with a "buy" recommendation and a target price of NT$150. The brokerage forecasts the company will achieve earnings per share of NT$10.47 next year, indicating its target price is 14 times projected 2004 earnings. Smith Barney said in its report Compal Communications will supply four handset models and a smartphone to its key client, Motorola, in 2004..."<br /><br />This isn't earth-shattering news by any means, but it's good to know that Compal is going to be releasing another Smartphone for Motorola - assuming of course that the lower-case "smartphone" is, in fact, a Windows Mobile-based upper-case Smartphone. Sometimes I wish Microsoft had picked a different name for this product. :roll:
