Has anyone had success using the i600 to connect to a data service other then Verizon Express?
I have been trying to troubleshoot this with Verizon and they seem to be as lost as I am as to why it doesn't work. I have not even been able to get the Quick2Net dialing to work. Only the ExpressNetwork connections work.
Tech Support thinks that it has something to do with the slower speed connections.
Please post any success you have had and what you had to do to make it work.

Here is a link to a thread containing specific instructions on this. It works like a charm and is one of the coolest capabilities of a Smartphone!

I have already done everything in that article and it works fine for ExpressNetwork connections to the Internet. I am trying to use the modem to dial into work (don't have VPN access at all yet). It will dial the number but as soon as the other side picks up the connection is dropped. It is having the same issue trying to connect to the slower Quick2Net #7772 connection. Not sure if it is a setting in the phone on in WindowsXP that is causing these issues.

If you are dialing in, then you are using the painfully slow Q2N. Using EN maybe be a problem as it doesn't support some encrytion protocols.

After an hour on the phone with Verizon tech support we finally determined that it was the Dialing Rules option that was causing the problem! If Dialing Rules is turned on the connection would fail, but turn that option off on the connection and no problems! Not sure if this is a TabletPC Edition issue, or XP as a whole. He also had me enter some AT codes into the initialization string, but I don't think that actually made any difference.
Not sure what the Dialing Rules option does when it is actually sending the numbers to the phone, but the Samsung does not like it.
Anyway, problem solved for me.

Steve, are the dialing rules in XP on your tablet or on your Smartphone. I was able to dial in using the modem but did get a number of errors.

The dialing rules are on the DUN Connection in XP. If you bring up a connection, then click on the Properties button, and the option is on the General tab just below where the phone number is displayed.
My problem was that it would not connect to the numbers that I tried to dial when this option was turned on. The error message that I got from XP was 777 something about a port error. Once I turned off the dialing rules option on the connection all worked well!
