Some big files accumulating- why are they there?

I noticed in my smartphone "\Windows" directory I have seven files that each take up 1.65MB... they are titled:

MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Notification SMS Protocol (Receive Only)
MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Broadcast Message SMS Protocol (Receive Only)
MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Text SMS Protocol
MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft WCMP SMS Protocol
MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft WDP SMS Protocol
MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Status Message SMS Protocol (Receive Only)
MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Raw SMS Protocol (Receive Only)

Are these needed? What are they?

These are message queue files for the assorted SMS processing systems on the device. Even though they look huge, they really aren't. There's a bug somewhere along the line where something doesn't know how to report the file sizes correctly for these types of queue files, but rest assured they are *much* smaller than they appear.
