(MDI), a pioneer in lowering customer care expenses for wireless carriers worldwide, announced today that the Bell Wireless Accelerator Fund has invested an undisclosed amount in Mobile Diagnostix. The funds will accelerate the development of the Mobile Diagnostix flagship product, the Mobile Care Framework.

Smartphone devices (wireless devices that combine phone and PDA functionality) represent an increasing number of the wireless handsets sold by wireless carriers such as Bell Mobility. As these devices increase in functionality and intelligence, it will become more complex for wireless service providers to support customers with these devices. The MDI Mobile Care Framework alleviates customer care requirements by automating a Smartphone's hardware and software analysis via its Mobile Care Engine.

The Mobile Care Engine detects configuration errors, system parameters and known application conflicts. It also delivers appropriate patches and updates to customers' devices."

Windows Mobile is listed as one of the platforms that this product supports. Check out the linked article for more info on how it works and why they are doing it.
