I didn't like the standard flap-over case that came with my new Samsung i600. Personally, I don't like having a device sticking out from my hip. My previously Motorola Startac phone had a cool little holster that allowed me to slip the phone easily into my right front pocket, with the belt "clip" part hanging on the outside of my pocket. Since the motorola holster didn't require me to remove the phone from it, I was able to simply pull the phone from my pocket and flip it open to use it.
The optional "leather case" for the i600 seems to meet my needs (not requiring the phone to be removed from the case to use it), but it is not in stock yet. So, I needed to create a substitute. The below link describes how I modified a holster made for a Motorola i90c to fit the Samsung i600 - even when used with the extended battery!
