Will Microsoft and its consorts be removing 'MSN Messenger' from its literature as a feature of a Microsoft Windows Mobile Smartphone, or can we expect an upgrade by tomorrow?

I kind of use MSN Messenger on my SPV....... but as of tomorrow, it seems I won't.

The update is, from what I last heard, getting some final touches and then it will go out to mobile operators who will distribute it to their customers. See http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/index.php?action=expand,4181 for more info on this.

But what about us that haven't bought the device through a mobile operator?

Microsoft really should learn from Nokia/Siemens etc... on this subject and stop fooling around, it's a great phone, but most users here in Scandinavia are now trading away theire MS SmartPhones because of the lack of support :-(

One of the big selling points of the Smartphone has been that it is very comptaible with the PocketPC, so why is it that so much work needs to be done after the PocketPC version has been released?

Are they having to tweak the UI? I thought all of this security of MSNM would have been more 'under the hood'.

Does anyone happen to know if upcoming phones, such as the Motorola MPx200, will ship with this Messenger update?
