http://revolution.cx/rcx/smartphone.htm

Many of us have configured our Smartphones to sync to a POP or IMAP account instead of our Outlook inbox or an Exchange account. This is great for checking our mail account of choice on the go, but large mail syncs can rack up costly GPRS charges. You can manually sync your Inbox via Internet passthrough during ActiveSync, but since you have to activate it manually, it's easy to forget... until now.

"Mail Checker for Smartphone will automatically check for new email but only when connected to a "free" Internet connection such as the pass through one in ActiveSync. In other words you can use IMAP or POP3 and have your phone automatically check for new email only when it's in its cradle.

This is an unsigned Smartphone .exe so you'll have to put it in your start menu directly. This is beta test software and will expire 8/15/2003."
