Is anyone currently using their Smartphone on the AT&T U.S. network? Have you had any major problems?

I've been waiting for yearrrrrrrrs (basically ever since my Compaq Aero) for a smartphone platform to become a reality. I will GLADLY replace my Pocket PC with one if I can use it!

If you order a Tanager from PPCW.NET or get the Smartphone developer kit from Everlink, those devices will both work fine on AT&T's GSM network.

Yes.

As far as the network goes, just the usual SMS messages stacking up once in a while and not being delivered until a few hours they are sent. Happens no matter what phone I'm using.

I am using a Canary (Orange SPV), unlocked and de-certed on the AT&T network. Works liek a charm. The only thing you will ahve to do is configure GPRS, etc. Modaco has a thread with settings for a lot of operators. otherwise, feel free to pm me for particular settings.

The only functionality you will not be able to use right away (unless it has changed and I am not aware of it) is MMS.

SMS work great, GPRS as well, no problem with voice calls
