As a man who has done my share of waiting/serving in my life I say the sad thing is people need this and the even sadder thing is people will buy it to figure out what a good tip is.

No offence at all to the developer, great idea!

But to the purchaser, man pay for good service, don't pay for lousy service. It is that simple!
