Now if you are talking about the 4GS, then that drops quite a bit and I don't blame them. I'll wait for the 5 if they come out with something like a 4GS. My iPhone 4 is pretty good as it is so it will have to be something with quite an upgrade on features for me to bite. What are your thoughts?</p>

This question is being asked a year too early. There is no 5.

As for the 4S . . . it comes down to whether you think "Assistant" is a must have feature. I may change my mind after I've actually had the chance to use/test it but as of right now I'm sticking with my iPhone 4. VERY disappointed we didn't get a hardware redesign with a larger screen. Heck I may even go back to an Infuse 4G.

Well that settles that. My line isn't eligible for the full upgrade until Feb '12. In the past I've still been able to get a 50% discount on the newest iPhone regardless of when I was eligible for the full discount. Not anymore. They will only take $50 off the full retail price for this one now.

Will we buy an iPhone 5 now? Apparently not ;)

Apple announced what I expected, but it was still disappointing. Siri and iCloud look very useful, the A5 ought to make the iPhone4S much zippier than any of the current Android phones, the dual antenna design is nifty, and the rest of the iOS5 improvements are welcome (especially notifications).

But 4.9 ounces with a 3.5" screen and integrated battery? That was fine when the SGS2 didn't exist. Yes the iPhone4S has better build quality, and I personally don't care about having a removable battery. But having an integrated battery and small screen means the iPhone should weigh less, be thinner, and/or have more WHr. At the very least, they should've added a larger screen while keeping it under 5 ounces.

Will wait to see what the Nexus Prime has to offer before deciding on my next device.

I'm reading a lot of postings about people in similar situations MacGuy, for some reason AT&T has not allowed upgrade like they have in the past with other iPhones. I know for the iPhone 4, my date was shortened so I was able to get a discount prior to when I would normally be eligible for one. Anyone else finding out they are stuck for a few more months?

After seeing the keynote I'm thinking I may hold off until the true 5 comes out, but that new camera setup is tempting. I just don't want to be stuck when it comes to upgrading to the 5 if AT&T is not allowing early upgrades.

Certainly nothing in yesterdays announcement to make me want to pay full price for a 4S, which it would be considering the contract situation. Looking forward to the iOS update for my 4. Also enjoying my Mango (WP7.5) upgrade on my HD7 and Focus. Guess it will be a comparison of iPhone 5 and Windows Phone 8 in a year, before anyone gets any more hardware money or soul selling from me.

I am still using my 3g (Yes, I said 3G!), so I will be upgrading to the 4S!

I have an iPhone4, so I think I'll pass on the 4s. This will be the FIRST iPhone I did not upgrade to almost immediately.

By the way...RIP Steve Jobs. You'll be missed!

A little OT but I'm reading Siri (Assistant) will not be enabled on iPad 2's. Odd considering they have the same specs (3G units). They almost certainly know it's the only hook to get people buying the 4s

That's exactly what I commented on as well. Siri looks good, and could be the 4S's saving grace.
