According to Macworld, Final Cut Pro X is "has been re-designed from the ground up with a radically different approach-one that acknowledges and uses device and camera data in a manner that has never before been attempted in the video editing environment."

They also state this is the future of the way data streams from all devices will work in the future. I personally think it's a bit of a bummer that Apple's solution to an upgraded experience for iMovie users is a $299 package. Where's the $99 video editor? I'm supposed to to from a free tool to a $299 package aimed at pros? That seems weird, though I guess it's consistent: they have no bridge product between iPhoto and Aperture.

At the very least I hope they offer a trial version - $299 is a fair chunk of money to spend blindly.
