I want you to know that we've listened. Today, I'm confirming we will no longer be locking the bootloaders on our devices. Thanks for your passion, support and patience."

After all the backlash Motorola got for it's device locking down policies this can only be a good PR move for HTC. A short message from Peter Chou himself states that HTC will no longer be locking the bootloaders on it's Android devices. This change doesn't hurt HTC in any way. Anyone who would want to unlock their bootloader already knows how to do it. Those that don't won't notice any difference. Way to make some friends in the Android community HTC! Now just sell me a phone without sense, please. ;)

I think it's fantastic that HTC listened to the enthusiasts that wanted this - for 99.9% of users, this won't matter, but for the .1% this is a must-have feature.

It's certainly a must-have for me! The difference can be night and day.
