Now on the iPad, Safari Books Online (with a name like that wonder how they got through the App Store approval process) offers thousands of books and videos, all with a technical bent. It works on either Wi-Fi or 3G but preference for best performance is Wi-Fi and future updates will offer improved 3G performance.
