If, like me, you plan on upgrading yearly and taking advantage of the iPad's excellent resale value, it's crucial to be aware of what models are popular, and you should also consider your usage habits in order to decide between 3G or Wi-Fi only connectivity."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/at/auto/1299636113.usr105634.jpg" /></p><p>Several considerations involved, such as just how much memory am I going to need, will I need Wi-Fi only or the combo unit and of course now there is the color decision just to make it more complicated. And on top of that, if you have an iPad are you going to keep it or trade it in? A <a href="http://electricpig.co.uk/2011/03/08/92-percent-of-ipad-owners-will-keep-the-original-or-buy-the-ipad-2/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+electricpig+(Electricpig.co.uk:+The+UK's+fastest+growing+tech+news+site)" target="_blank">recent poll</a> has information that says 32% of current iPad owners are going to keep their iPad if they buy an iPad 2. I can tell you that I am also in that camp, especially since I plan on using the original version as a TV set top box of sorts with Hulu+ and other apps to send the signal to my TV with the new HDMI adapter that Apple is going to start selling. I've also narrowed my choices down to the black one, with 32 GB of memory. The only thing I'm waffling on is Wi-Fi only or the added 3G version. How about you, what are you going to do when the iPad 2 becomes available?</p>

WiFi-only since I can always activate tethering on my iPhone if need be, and if I'm away from home (i.e. don't have access to WiFi) my iPhone is always with me. I'd like the 64 GB version again, but might settle for 32 GB. Black of course (I think the white will be distracting and detract from the immersive iPad experience) probably with a black leather Smart Cover.

Oh and I'm definitely keeping my first iPad- my wife and son can use it. Although really if I could make money on it, it would be worth it to sell off the 64 GB model and replace it with a 16 GB one (since that would be more than sufficient for their needs).

Will definately get the iPad 2 3G 32GB

I also have the ipad 1st gen 3gb 3g, a 15euro plan with 1gb per month helps me use it anywhere with no problem while having internet access everywhere.

Already looking to sell my existing iPad, either in local forums in my country or ebay

My problem is where to get it with a decent price since my country is not on the list! Not that it wver was for apples products! Cyprus is a very small Island for apple to officially support!

I'm with Dyvim - 64GB, Wifi-only in black.

If I ever need 3G access then I'll use my iPhone as a hotspot.

I want to pickup the iPad and use it right away! I dont want to enable hotspots on my mob, try to connect to it in order to see a quick page in safari. Tried to use it that way with my wife's wifi iPad since we got that one first but i was not happy with such a setup especially having reduced battery on my iPhone while using the hotspot. You should reconsider the 3G version if you ask me!

Just a friendly advise if you ask me! Now if that setup already works for you with 1st gen iPad then that's a different story.

You should reconsider the 3G version if you ask me!

I just don't see the point of paying an extra £10-15 a month when I've got a perfectly acceptable 3GB limit on my iPhone's tethering plan.
