Photographer and blogger Derrick Story at Macworld also has a great fondness for the lightweight Mac, although he's using it for more than just blogging."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/zt/auto/1289832145.usr105634.jpg" /></p><p>There have been two posts from Derrick Story about his use of the MacBook Air as a part of his photography tool kit. The first one is <a href="http://www.macworld.com/article/158047/2011/02/mbaforphotographers.html" target="_blank">here</a>, and it goes into the aspect of "is it powerful enough?" and the second one posted <a href="http://www.macworld.com/article/158048/2011/02/photography_workflows_mba.html#lsrc.rss_main" target="_blank">here</a> gives an insight into the workflow aspect of how Derrick uses his MacBook Air. Interesting reading, and it does help you decide if this amazing laptop will work for you. I've found in the month or so of using my MacBook Air 11-inch that it is indeed powerful enough for my everyday use.&nbsp;</p>

I agree! I've got an 11.6-inch MBA too, and I like it so much that I got rid of my iPad (at least until the next version). I use it for writing, as it's sooooo easy to carry around, and the screen size & clarity is perfect for Scrivener. I use MacKeeper to keep it cleaned-up, and keep all the non-apple software updated, and the 64GB SSD is enough for a travel device. I've got a 16GB flash drive that I use to back up whatever I'm doing, so I don't miss an SD card (slot). If this isn't the perfect laptop, it's very close.

Good. It's sad to rely on Apple to start a trend, but I hope this makes bag makers sit up and take notice: Photographers don't always use 15" and bigger notebooks. It has been an exercise in frustration to find bags that fit my 12" Thinkpad.
