The prices weren't surprising and fit exactly what we had imagined, but were hesitant to go with it. And then, pictures providing visual evidence popped up confirming our tip. So here we go with the first glimpse into Verizon's 4G LTE pricing model."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/lpt/auto/1295654976.usr1.jpg" style="border: 0;" /></p><p>$799 seems a bit steep, but based on what I saw at CES, the Xoom is an impressive piece of hardware - certainly one of the top Android slates that should be considered by anyone looking for a high-end device. I'm looking forward to some actual reviews of this device rather than <a href="http://www.laptopthoughts.com/news/show/102296/ces-2011-the-motorola-xoom-tablet.html" target="_blank">watching it play video clips</a>.</p>

Wow - are they pricing themselves right out of the market? $799? I hope that it's a few hundred less ... I've sold both my iPads, and am waiting for a true Android (or QNX?) competitor to arrive on the scene. This looks like a possibility, if it's priced attractively.

But the iPad 32 GB model with 3G is $729...so $799 is in the same ballpark. It seems clear Motorola doesn't want to compete in the WiFi only, sub $500 space...which is a shame. :(
