Looks like one came true in real life - silly woman walks right into a water fountain! As someone who has dodged more than a few phone-zombies who stumble forward while texting or emailing, heedless of anyone around them, I have basically no sympathy for this person. Makes for a funny video though.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Actually, there's an app for this (now) in the Marketplace (at least in the LG portion of it). It turns on the camera so you can see 'thru' your phone to where you are walking, while you are texting, etc.
Sheesh, people -- get a life!!! (or at least get one OFF the net...)

Oh wow! That's actually quite neat. But how does it work? As an overlay?

That's been around for the iPhone as well. It overlays the text you are typing over the real time back camera image.
I kind of wonder if this wasn't staged. Kind of fortuitous to have two cameras at two angle catch it. If it was surveilance video, wonder what it would take to get copies, and whether your job would be at risk if you did.

Seemed that way ... except that now she is suing the mall (http://www.dlisted.com/node/40497) (of course)

That's so predictable and lame. She seems to have completely missed the point of what happened to her.

Wonder if the employees had approached her and offered to share the video as a Worlds Funniest Video submission (split the prize) if she would have been as upset ;)

She's going for the bigger payout as I mention in my article here (http://www.geardiary.com/2011/01/20/texting-women-falls-into-fountain-ashamed-of-course-not-shes-suing-the-mall/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+GearDiary+%28Gear+Diary%29) ...

And she has the nerve to sue? What a dumbass. Now all her dirty laundry is gonna get aired out:

1. she has a history of credit card theft and fraud
2. she has a history of reckless driving resulting in property damage
And who knows what else the defense attorney will dig up on her?
Amazing that some in the Moral Majority can be so minimally minded.

Yep - I saw that on the news this morning. Yesterday she was making the rounds pleading for pity and crying on screen ... today she has her lawyer doing the talking ...

Let her sue. It's pretty obvious from the video that she wasn't injured. They'll throw her out of court, make her pay legal fees, and that'll be the end of her 15 minutes.

Well that would explain the reckless driving!
Wonder if it was an iPhoney? That would be rich!

It'd be even funnier if she couldn't even prove it was HER in the video. Would fit her M.O.
