As someone who has dodged more than a few phone-zombies who stumble forward while texting or emailing, heedless of anyone around them, I have basically no sympathy for this person. You know those Windows Phone 7 ads that Microsoft has been running where people are so absorbed using their phones that the walk into things, including other people? Looks like one came true in real life - silly woman walks right into a water fountain! As someone who has dodged more than a few phone-zombies who stumble forward while texting or emailing, heedless of anyone around them, I have basically no sympathy for this person. Makes for a funny video though.

Actually, there's an app for this (now) in the Marketplace (at least in the LG portion of it). It turns on the camera so you can see 'thru' your phone to where you are walking, while you are texting, etc.

Oh wow! That's actually quite neat. But how does it work? As an overlay?

That's been around for the iPhone as well. It overlays the text you are typing over the real time back camera image.

I kind of wonder if this wasn't staged. Kind of fortuitous to have two cameras at two angle catch it. If it was surveilance video, wonder what it would take to get copies, and whether your job would be at risk if you did.

Yep - I saw that on the news this morning. Yesterday she was making the rounds pleading for pity and crying on screen ... today she has her lawyer doing the talking ...
