These TVs run a version of Android, and Panasonic will be selling a companion Android tablet that can act as a remote control. (Note that the remote software is just an Android app, so it can run on Android phones, as well.) In addition to its remote capabilities, the tablet can do all the normal stuff that an Android tablet does."

This certainly looks slick and I really like the idea of just having an app on my phone that can act as a smart remote for all the TV's in my house. But usually I just want to change the channel or adjust the volume and the simplicity of a dedicated dumb remote is hard to beat.
