This phone is part of the first wave of Windows Phone 7 devices, and features a solid list of specs: 1 Ghz CPU, 16 GB of storage, a 3.5 inch 800 x 480 screen, built-in 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and an array of sensors including an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and 512 MB RAM / 512 MB ROM. <MORE />

It's a GSM phone, supporting the 850, 900, 1800, 1900 bands, and functions on the 850, 1900, and 2100 bands for UMTS. HSDPA at up to 7.2 Mbit/s is supported.

Size wise, it's 4.70" x 2.34" x 0.60" (119 x 59 x 15 mm) and weighs in at 6.21 oz (176 g) - this phone has some heft to it! The 5 megapixel camera has a flash and can record 720p video at 24fps in MPEG4 format. It also supports sending media to DLNA-compliant devices.

Since shooting this video I've been using the phone as my daily device, and I'm quite impressed with the speed and fluidity of Windows Phone 7 - I feel like I can do everything I need and do it very fast. The same couldn't be said for my HD2, and that was a device I really liked - but I felt like the operating system and software were constantly letting me down. It was fairly stable, but everything felt so slow on it. The LG Quantum is a rocket in comparison, though I've noticed that I'm not using the keyboard much at all.

Got questions? Let me know - and stay tuned for the give away contest, which will happen in a few weeks.

Jason Dunn owns and operates Thoughts Media Inc., a company dedicated to creating the best in online communities. You're assuming I have those devices - I do not. :o Doug reviewed the HTC HD7 here:
