I was playing with this a little and when you are actually in a book, there is a "Share Progress" sub-menu option. This let's you choose how you want to share your progress from a list of your available options like Gmail, Facebook, and Text Messaging. It will tell the name of the book your reading and the percentage of it you've read and a link for Kindle for Android. This would be great for a book club or any group reading project.
