I'm trying to decide on the best solution for online storage and syncing between my computer and smartphone. I currently have a Nexus One so I thought Google Docs would be my most logical choice, but I found myself balking at putting my financial spreadsheets into that particular service.

I'm thinking about other services. I would like to use SkyDrive and the office web apps for that matter, they're a no go on Android.

I did some digging and I've come up with some options.

Try and use SkyDrive with some kind of Android WebDav client
DropBox
SugarSync
Box.net

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would rather go with something that has the possiblity to stick with me if I get a WP7 phone also.

thanks in advance.

Well, I can tell you that you will have to wait to see what is supported on WP7 if that is a concern, since none of those are, currently. What? you say, doesn't Skydrive work? Well, No. You can open IE and get documents that are stored there, and save them to the device and work with them, but you can't put them back. At this point, only OneNote syncs. That works very well, BTW. Too bad you need to be on Sharepoint to actually get much use out of the Office apps on WP7. The option for normal folks is to e-mail documents to and from the phone.

Thanks for the reply Sven. I bit the bullet and signed up for a free dropbox account. It looks like Documents to Go actually supports it to some degree. I figure I could move to another solution if something better comes along.

It is crazy that Skydrive doesn't have better support in WP7. But I'm sure its coming down the road.
