By the end of 2011, the iPad will generate more than two percent of all North American Web traffic."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com//at/auto/1291943054.usr105505.png" style="border: 0;" /></p><p>I take statistics with a grain of salt if they don't come from a trusted source. &nbsp;Without seeing the actual data, and a discussion of the methods used, I have no real idea if this is true or not. &nbsp;It feels like something that could be true, but a whole lot could throw this off. &nbsp;For the most part, though, I think the estimate is probably too low. &nbsp;In order to make this calculation, they'd have to make a guess about the sales of next year's iPad. &nbsp;I suspect that they underestimated that number given the conclusion they reached. &nbsp;Of course, since I have no data to work with, my guess is as good as anybody else's.</p>

I usually use a salt lick myself. Even seeing the actual data, and a discussion of the methods used, I have no real idea if this is true or not. There are just way too many variables in this and most expert predictions. Not just the guesstimate of next year's iPad sales would have to be divined, but also all the other connected pad-like devices coming out, and gobs of other variables. Their existance will certainly figure into the overall Web usage. Thank goodness they will have to opportunity to revise the prediction made with incomplete input, based on newer incomplete input, as the year progresses, never to held accountable for the initial swing and miss.
