Carriers are struggling with bandwidth demands, and would love to have Apple and other content providers like Facebook and Google pay additional fees linked to usage, or "pay to play." It'll be interesting to see how (and if) this develops. Does it make sense to charge content providers based on network usage?</span></p>

No, it makes sense that network providers actually have the infrastructure to be able to deliver the product they are advertising.

Imagine as electric heaters and air conditioners became available on the market at the same time, at not too expensive prices...

Now, imagine if the power companies tried to charge the appliance makers a fee because "their appliances suck too much power".

Ridiculous right? So is this. Tell the network providers to stuff it and deliver their services.
