According to NPD's Mobile Phone Track, Android was installed on 44 percent of all smartphones sold during the third quarter, up from 33 percent in the second quarter, while iOS saw a slight bump from 22 to 23 percent and RIM dropped into third place at 22 percent."</em></p><p><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/adt/auto/1288886422.usr206.jpg" style="border: 0;" /></p><p>The smartphone market in general is growing fast but no where near as fast as Android. Someone's gotta take the hit.&nbsp;Unfortunately&nbsp;for RIM, Google's rapid&nbsp;ascension&nbsp;to the top is coming mostly at their expense. As Android's market share continues to climb Blackberry's continues it's downward spiral. Are any of you out there converts from the Blackberry OS? What made you jump ship to Android?</p>

I still don't understand why people think the BB is so good for email and texting. I'll take my Droid X any day. I really don't like the curve. The only thing rim did right is the battery life! My curve gets about a week of use on a charge (ok, I don't use it that much but I do use it every day). That's great! Although talk time isn't very good. I think my Droid X gets much better talk time.

I heard we're getting newer Bb's next week. I don't think they're battery life is as good. My current Curve is the 8330.

I've never cared for BB either. Mostly because it doesn't really do what I need my phone to do and doesn't do what I would use it for all that well. :) But that's just me.
There are several people where I work that live and die by their Blackberry.
