Most cell phones as well as some iPod Touches can be charged on the pad so households with a variety of gadgets should be able to utilize the system. My wife has loved being able to simply toss her phone on the pad to charge up when she walks into the house."</em></p><p><em><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/600/dht/auto/1288829648.usr10.jpg" style="border: 1px solid #d2d2bb;" /></em></p><p>Since all my daily use devices now charge via USB, I'm less excited by charging solutions. &nbsp;Having to plug a device in does not overly bother me, but if they want this to catch on, I think they need to get this built-in on devices so you don't have to have the ugly wart sticking out the bottom. &nbsp;Of course the other problem with this setup is that you don't really have any other case options.</p>

Until this is built into the device (like the Touchstone charger for the Palm Pre), I really don't see the attraction. Is it really that hard to plug your device into a charger? esp. considering that the mandatory case looks pretty bulky and unattractive (and I'm the type who doesn't really like cases much anyway). Also, device-specific charging cases don't make a lot of sense from an economical or environmental standpoint (compared to generic USB chargers).

Yeah, it's a classic chicken-and-egg problem. Someone needs to lead the way on the device side before this gets any momentum - I'm sure as heck not going to attach a bulky case onto my device just to avoid plugging it in.
