He breaks down Gruber's points and offers counterpoints (and good ones I might add) for making one of these new models of MacBook Air a choice if you are considering a new primary computer.&nbsp;</p>

I'm excited about my new MB Air, and after dragging around a ThinkPad T410 all this week, very ready. I had several instances this week where Windows 7 Enterprise simply wouldn't reboot (on a company-supplied machine) cleanly, and the wireless networking wouldn't work. Forced me to go to 'safe mode with networking' to clean up. never had that happen with a mac. And several times it hung shutting down. WTH? There may be some responsible "wonky" work software, but what a pain.

The new MBA is going to be my 'go to' system, even with 64GB of SSD space. I favor lightness and ease of use more than power. The T410 has an i5 processor, but is probably overkill for my travel needs. The MBA will have only "essential" stuff, like MSO for Mac 2011, and my SoftToken and Cisco VPN client for work use. I have a nice Crumpler bag that is about 1-pound (~450g), with a carry weight of say, 4-pounds, total.

But, alas, I have to wait until I'm back home from Atlanta.

I'm excited about my new MB.So, Michael, are you going to rush your new MBA down to your company so your IT guys and 'set it up' for you? Bet they wouldn't have any trouble getting it just as unstable as your Windows machine.

Really I'm just guessing here but you mentioned how clean you are going to keep your MBA and that your Windows box is a company machine. I know my company likes to take a perfectly good, brand new machine from the manufacturer, and 're-image' it into compliance. They (the machine) typically need some therapy after that process. ;)

Ugh, don't get me started on company compliance. Perfectly good C2Ds feel like Atoms after that.
