The keys still make the clickity-clack noise, unless you damper it with some cotton according to <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/56606279/usb-typewriter-keyboard-royal-no-10" target="_blank">the listing at Etsy</a>. He also has other typewriters on his site at <a href="http://www.usbtypewriter.com/" target="_blank">USB Typewriters</a> that have been modified to work with other gadgets. </p>
