I don't understand these Android tablets. Apple has always been at a price premium for their products, but everything that is coming out with Android seems to be way too expensive. I like the iPad, but I think $500 is way too much for a web browsing machine. The Samsung and Streak are $600 unless you buy with a contract. If these guys want to compete, they need wifi only models for around $200-$300, no contract.

I would love 300 USD/EUR 3G tablet without the contract, but I don't think this will happen anytime soon.

But compared to the current market - typical high end smart phone cost around 500-600, iPad 3G 16GB is $630 (officially) so given that Samsung and Streak are "just bigger android phones" $600 is within current pricing and I don't think Samsung would sell the 7" TAB for less than the 4" Galaxy S.

On the other hand, you do have $300 Archos 101 without 3G and Viewsonic tablet for I think $400 (but not with Cortex CPU).
