<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/27/study-finds-that-apple-dominates-tech-news/' target='_blank'>http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.c...ates-tech-news/</a><br /><br /></div><p><em>"A yearlong look at technology news coverage by the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism found that 15.1 percent of tech articles were primarily about Apple; 11.4 percent were about Google; and a meager 3 percent were about Microsoft."</em></p><p>When I first heard the numbers from this report, I wasn't surprised at all. &nbsp;I read a lot of tech journalism, and I see Apple coverage everywhere. &nbsp;It becomes remarkable, though, when you realize how dominate Microsoft is in the computer space. &nbsp;Despite Microsoft's significant lead in install base, Apple still gets much more reporting. &nbsp;Much of that has to do with Apple's marketing machine and with their dominance in the MP3 player market. &nbsp;Of course, news in the tech world, just like everywhere else, moves in cycles. &nbsp;Now is Apple's time. &nbsp;Eventually, another company will become the darling of the media. &nbsp;As an Apple fan, I say let's enjoy it while we can. &nbsp;</p>
