Default Solve Your Top 5 Pocket PC Issues - In 2 Minutes or Less

Have you ever been totally engrossed in a TV show—I mean, really into it, like you’re the one standing in the middle of dark street on a rainy night—when suddenly you notice on rain drop on the camera lens?

Sccccrrrrreeeeech. You’re abruptly ripped out of the experience. You’re not standing on a dark and rainy street at all, but rather sinking into the folds of your oversized couch… total buzz kill.

For many, a Pocket PC experience can be similar. There are some obvious gaps in functionality that remind you, well, you’re not really using a PC. And while you don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth (after all, your PPC gives you some powerful gifts in the form of freedom and flexibility), you still have needs and wants and wishes...

Here’s five “sore spots” that probably top your list:

> Not enough storage
> Lousy format for small screen
> S-l-o-o-o-w speeds
> Inadequate shortcuts
> Difficulty printing

At 3am Labs, creators of LogMeIn Pro remote access software, we think your Pocket PC experience should be as close as possible to being at your desktop or laptop — unfettered by latency, complexity, screen resolution, printing, file access or security woes. We’ve listened to your feedback about what’s needed – or just really wanted – to make your Pocket PC experience about as good as it can get on device that small. In fact, we want you to forget about how small your Pocket PC is altogether.

What Is LogMeIn Pro?
LogMeIn Pro is remote access software. LogMeIn Pro’s File Transfer and Folder Synch features making getting the files you need a snap.

Formatted to Fit Your Screen
LogMeIn automatically senses if you are connecting from a device running Microsoft CE and formats the screen to match the Pocket PC viewing window.

Figure 1: The login screen and My Computers page of LogMeIn, formatted to fit your PPC.

LogMeIn Pro also has a file retrieval feature unique to the Pocket PC. LogMeIn is awesome, I load the free version on my desktops at home and I can access them anywhere I can get a Internet connection. It's almost scary how it works through my firewall without opening any ports. The Windows Mobile client is great, and the PC client rocks. I highly recommend LogMeIn for anyone who wants to remotely access their computers, securely.

I've been using LogMeIn since last year, with the free client for most of my machines (and my friends machines that I end up fixing) and the pro version for my laptop. The 30 day trials are nice, and the price is better than some of the other solutions out there. Nice to see they've updated their PPC interface for the pro version - Kudos to 3AM labs!

We are in the process of switching over from another service to LogMeIn to remote into all of our clients' computers. LogMeIn is great! With the old service we would experience horrible latency issues and downtime, but LogMeIn doesn't share these issues.

I love LogMeIn and would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone needing a solution of this kind.

They might not have had the technical chops for that ;-), or the time to get them done.

I agree - LogmeIn is currently the best solution out there for remote access - it rocks.

It does seem that the pricing model for ALL of these services, however, needs some tweaking. The $70-100 per year access fee (for pro service) for a single PC makes sense for business, but there needs to be another pricing tier for home. I was looking a Pro for 5 home PC's, but there is no way I'm shelling out $300-400.

i would like to post a hearty "me too!".

i have been using the free version on all of my systems for some time now, and about a week ago i upgraded to pro on my main internet machine. i might not keep pro because i rarely need the file transfer option, but so far i can say it's working great.

i have not ever tried to access it on my PDA, because the only wi-fi access point i can ever get acceptable speeds from is my own at home, and i hope i will never be lazy enough to access my computers through my pda from the couch

I have tried to access the PC with my Sx66 at home, I can only go up to remote control page but can not see the PC screen at all!
I am not sure if their claim is true. I can access well with my other computer but not with SX66
