Default Kindle Comes Out Swinging Against the iPad

I've found that when I turn up the brightness I don't have the glare issue, and so that I don't run down my battery as fast I just put an anti-glare screen protector on it. I hardly notice it, but I also am hardly ever poolside so my experience in this environment is limited. I will say this however, at $139.00 USD, that thing is cheap enough that you can own your iPad AND a Kindle. How about you, have you found glare to be a problem when you use your iPad outside?&nbsp;</p>

I will probably buy one. I do most of my book reading in bed and find the 'Pad just too heavy for that. Not to mention the cost of repairing a cracked screen should I doze off and manage to crunch it. I think the ad is very effective

Compared to other (full, x86-based) tablets on the market, the iPad has excellent visibility outdoors. Of course it's worse than an ePaper-based solution but is still one of the best TFT screens.

I've made several comparisons between my trusty HP TC1100 tablet (still one of the best Windows-based ones when it comes to weight) and the iPad is just waaaaay better outdoors.
