G2 specs
I got to check out this handset a few weeks ago, when our HTC rep was in store (I work for T-Mobile).
Screen size is definitely 3.7 inch, resolution is 800 x 480, the way the slider raises up while opening is normal an feels very cool and solid in operation. Memory is 512 RAM and 512 ROM. I don't remember %100 on the ROM, I was more interested in RAM and not worried about storage since 2.2 allows apps to be stored on the SD card.
Processor CPU/GPU is more powerful than the current Snapdragon but not quite as powerful as the 1Ghz Hummingbird in the Galaxy S (Vibrant). The performance is noticeable quicker than the Vibrant most likely due to the combination of the performance boosts from 2.2 and also from running a Vanilla Android build. Hopefully clocking the processor at 800Mhz will yield better battery life than the Vibrant, and if it doesn't there is always rooting and overclocking to 1Ghz, since that should be relatively safe since it is within the processor's design specs.
In hand the G2 feels very much like a Nexus one with a slide out keyboard. It feels like the best built hardware available from T-Mobile, build quality feels about the same as the Nexus one or HD2.
