http://www.pod2mob.com/main

"Sign Up with Pod2Mob and you can listen to your favorite podcasts through your mobile phone. Pod2Mob is the world’s first application that empowers you to browse and stream podcasts anywhere and everywhere over your wireless connection. The service has been confirmed on SprintPCS and Cingular, but should work on most cell phone providers. When you SIGN UP we will send a text message to your phone with a link to our FREE software or dedicated WAP page for your phone. Get your podcasts on the go, you’ll never have to sync again. Listen to new shows as they are updated even when you are far from your Mac or PC. If you do not own an iPod, now you can find out what the Podcasting excitement is all about."

Here's a nice twist for listening to podcasts while you're out and about. Why waste all that time downloading and sync'ing them to your device when you can just stream them in whenever you want it. Pretty smart idea, and it's free too! All you have to do is find something that's worth listening too.

What a great idea! Kind of like a "duh!" why didn't people just do this already. Now they just need to add video podcasts.

What I got from the link is that you'd be streaming the audio file from the source's server. Imo, a better idea would be for Pod2Mob to download a requested file to their own server and have the streaming take place from there.

Hey guys - thanks for the comments!

I'm one of the developers for Pod2Mob, so if you guys have any comments or suggestions, fell free to PM or email me.

As far as downloading the podcasts to our server, we do! Our main site just provides streaming links to the original content, but our mobile site:
http://www.pod2mob.com/mobile

actually has several different formats. We download the podcasts regularly and encode them automatically. We support all 3GPP phones, Windows Mobile and Treos. (Although for the treos, we DO stream from the original Mp3 source).

Check it out and let us know anything we should change or add.

Thanks guys!
