Default "You Can Take It With You" Column on MSDN

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dntake/html/youcantakeitwithyou_devtoolbelt.asp?frame=true

Jim Wilson recently began writing a monthly column for MSDN called "You Can Take It With You." He focuses on talking to desktop and enterprise developers who are beginning to develop for mobile devices. This month, Jim talks about the tools he keeps loaded and uses on an almost daily basis. Be sure to watch for this column each month!

Interesting if a bit over my head. But importantly I view and use the Smartphone as an extension of my desktop and my office land line (which if service in my rural area was more reliable would go away in favor of the Smartphone). Any developer that can expand this usage is going to win my business. I have countless positive examples of having required and necessary data in my pocket via the Smartphone or available via the Internet using the Smartphone. I've used up-to-date currency prices to sell cattle to international buyers, I've got up-to-date weather information prior to applying expensive chemicals to crops, I've looked up information on the internet to help me make on the fly decisions while seated on a horse, I've won bar bets, I've killed time while waiting in some fools office, I have records on my businesses at my finger tips and I've found directions to business's in cities I'm not familar with just to mention a few.

What's not to love?

Keep 'em coming.

Suddenly I feel that I'm not getting everything out of my Smartphone.
