Default MEDC 2006 News, Video Podcasts and Photos

The Microsoft Mobile and Embedded Developer Conference 2006 in Las Vegas is now officially over and the next stop for the conference is Australia. This year we have not heard any major Windows Mobile related announcement coming out of MEDC. :-( Last year Windows Mobile 5.0 was announced and Bill Gates was there personally to make the announcement. This year the focus has been on the 10 year anniversary of Windows CE, the foundation for Windows Mobile and the announcement of Windows CE 6 Beta. Pieter Knook, Senior Vice President of the Mobile and Embedded Devices Division, gave the opening keynote; the highlights were - Windows CE 6 Beta announcement and its integration with Visual Studio 2005, popularity of Windows Mobile 5.0, Sumo Robot and Dresser Wayne's Windows CE based gas station.

If you are interested in catching up on the MEDC 2006 happenings, then I would recommend the following sites:
MEDC 2006 Video Podcasts: My favorite is the one featuring Pieter Knook and Todd Warren; right before the end of the podcast, the two start pulling out Windows Mobile devices out of their pockets, a sight worth watching.

Stephen Skarlatos's MEDC coverage over at pocketnow.com: Click on the links titled Part 1 thru Part 8 to read the complete coverage. Part 3, 4 and 5 talks about the keynote.

Oh, and one more key point, every Microsoft employee seems to be carrying the HTC Star Trek and the Moto Q.

Right now I am eagerly waiting for Microsoft to put the MEDC session presentations/PowerPoint slides and keynote video.
