Default T-Mobile Dash Available at CompUSA Stores for Just $79.99

Another sweet deal from CompUSA. This time it is the T-Mobile Dash. No need to worry about any mail-in-rebates, the Smartphone is yours for just $79.99 after an instant savings of $270. This deal is for new customers signing a two year contract but last week CompUSA was running a similar promotion on the Samsung BlackJack and our reader, Smartphone Guy, had reported over here that existing customers could get the BlackJack after paying an additional fee of $75; maybe the same deal is still available for the Dash. I tried looking up the Dash pricing on Amazon.com but could not find it. :? Anyway the CompUSA deal is better because you don't have to worry about any mail-in-rebates and in case you don't like the phone (not possible) or the service then you can return the unit easily.

You know, I was thinking about getting a dash to replace my Dopod S300, but I went and tried it out in store too see if I liked it and I couldn't stand the keyboard. The keys were TINY!!

Maybe I just have large hands, but what looked like a great phone was ruined by not being able to use the keyboard.

I was waiting to get a 3G PPC PE but I could totally use the Dash until that happens... If ever..

I too was thinking "Dang, I've been a customer with them for 4 years. Why can't I get a deal?". However, I think an additional $75 is a totally reasonable price to pay... C'mon T-Mo!

I think part of the problem is that the device itself is small. It is tricky to hold on to it because it is thin and small, and even trickier to get used to typing. I had some trouble myself but once you have spent an hour or so with it, it gets easier. ;-)

I think the $75 surcharge is a good strategy on part of CompUSA, wish Cingular and other carriers would also do the same
