Default GIVEAWAY: Developer Kit - Including Red E Smartphone!

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/information/devprograms/smartphonedevkit/default.mspx

Here's last item up in our launch giveaway extravaganza... we'll announce the winners for everything later this week. For those keeping track, we have 134 prizes from 18 sponsors worth over $3275! Now for the one you've all been waiting for:

The Smartphone Developer Kit Includes:
  • Smartphone Developer Kit Quick Start Guide
  • red e SC1100 Smartphone (pre-commercial device provided by EverLink Wireless)
  • Power Adapter
  • Battery
  • Dummy SIM card
  • Hands-free Headset
  • USB Sync Cable
  • User Manual (provided by EverLink Wireless)
  • Microsoft Mobile Development Toolkit CD, which includes all the tools and resources you need to build and bring to market mobile applications for Smartphone and Pocket PC.
    Support Information
  • Information on Microsoft Mobile2Market, a comprehensive program for the logo certification and market delivery of Smartphone and Pocket PC applications
  • Smartphone Developer T-shirt
  • Smartphone Clip Watch
The included device is SIM- and software-unlocked so it will run on any GSM network and will run any Smartphone application. The display on this device isn't nearly as vibrant as that of the Tanager, but I personally prefer the Red E because it feels much more natural to hold in my hand or carry in my pocket. For what it's worth, this is the device that Microsoft uses internally to develop and test the Smartphone operating system. Courtesy of Microsoft, 1 registered reader of Smartphone Thoughts will be receiving one of these developer kits for free! This kit can be purchased for $499 and is highly recommended for any developer looking to get started on the Smartphone platform before the devices are commercially available in their country.

If you haven't yet registered, what are you waiting for?!? It's free and it's easy. Do it now!

Ok, with 135 prizes and 662 (so far) registered users, that makes the odds of winning about 20%... 8) Pretty good odds for a Thoughts site!

in the last 8 years i've had about 4 car accidents, meaning 1 accident every 2 years... meaning about 1 accident in everyh 700 days
that looks very much like my odds of wining this device... with 66x users and growing

I have been using the Red-e (Compal) phone for about three months and I can attest that it is an amazing device. After a couple of hiccups at the beinging the phone has worked flawlessly ever since.

It really is a great device - just pop in your SIM and away you go.
