Default Zune v2 Headphone Rumour

http://crunchgear.com/2007/09/04/zune-2-headphones-details/

"I know it’s not that exciting, but one of our people caught a glimpse of the Zune 2 headphones this weekend and they’re pretty damn cool. It’s a mashup between the current premium headphones and the V Moda buds you see up top. What sets these apart from the current batch and even the Apple buds is that the Zune team has done away with the obnoxious plastic cables and brought in some nice black and brown striped cloth-wrapped cables. Not only that, they sound much better than the ones Apple includes with its iPods. The Zune 2 could win on quality then, perhaps."

I tend to replace the bundled earphones with something made by Ultimate Ears, but most people do not, so anything to improve the bundled headphones is a welcome change. The Zune v1 headphones were surprisingly decent, so let's hope the trend continues!

They don't look like they would be a Microsoft product; too silvery. They remind me of those cheap-silvery-plastic-kind-of toys you get at $1 stores...and they're too a dramatic change, remember, consistancy is key with products like these.

Alber: Those aren't the headphones in question. The ones on the left are Microsoft's current "premium" offering. On the right are the V-Moda Vibes.

The article is suggesting that this potential headphone set is a cross between the two.

I'm really curious to see how the new ones, if true, will look.
You see, the white string on Apple's is a little tacky for my taste but does the job of advertising the device that, most of the times, is hidden in the pocket.

I've seen several times on the malls folks with Zunes but it took me a lot of carefull looking to identify the Zune headphones.

You know, it kind of freaks people out when I stare at them like that on the streets
