So I'm trying to install the 1.2 update and Zune software says that my Zune is up to date but it's showing 1.1. Is there anyway to "re-install" 1.2?

Hmm, that's a difficult situation you're in. You may want to contact Zune Support and see if they can suggest a way for you to update your device without hacking it.

Oddly enough, it seemed to have been an issue with the firmware cab file not being downloaded. I went and tried it at my parents house and it worked without a single problem.

I came back to work and tried to download the cab file that's listed in the xml file in the firmware folder and it's blocked by the proxy-server.

A rather weird message, to a problem that had nothing to do with the actual player.

Either way, I'm all set!!!

Glad to here you were able to resolve your issue. It's a shame that you had to track down your problem on your own, instead of getting a more helpfull error message, but at least its working now!

Yeah, Zune support wasn't much help either.

But it's fixed and now I know I can't trust the error messages I get.
