I wouldn't be surprised if the older Zunes don't get a real GUI update or even an OS update. Tegra is what really drives the GUI on the Zune HD and the touchscreen makes a lot of the features more usuable.

Hmm, it is tough. When I first saw the blue, I was completely sure I wanted one of those. But when I looked at the tint level closer, I wasn't as excited as at first sight. So I'm back at either black or platinum, but you might have leaned me towards black now.

Ok, this is not good. This is what I fear the most. I am not going to shell out $220/$280 and then see a "better" model come out. If anything, it better just be a memory upgrade (if the 120 is any indication to their complete-hardware-upgrade time-needs), because if so I wouldn't be as upset; I can manage dealing with the memory.

I would be really surprised if the refresh was anything other than a memory bump. I'm definitely going to be holding out for that now too. 32G is just not enough for me.

I'm not privy to any inside information on this, but I can virtually guarantee that there will be no improved Zune HD coming out any time soon - the earliest I'd expect a 64 GB version would be late spring of 2010, but that completely depends on what Flash memory prices do in the spring. I'd be shocked if a refreshed Zune HD in the spring had anything other than more storage.

That's when i was thinking...that would be a mid-fiscal year refresh for them.

Patience is going to be hard on this one but at the same time, 32 GB simply is not large enough for me. My music alone takes up 33 GB right now and its always growing. I could get by with 64 GB for quite a while but I'd go crazy trying to pick what music I want with me all the time with 32.

my Zune full messages on my 120 have started forcing me to remove massive amounts of other content, most of my podcasts and videos

I was fantasizing I'd find a way to make it work, but I seem to be loosing a battle with reality and the Zune Device and Software seem to be teaming up against me.

Even if the WiFi streaming isn't just a rumor, my Zune marketplace Zune pass downloads have a 10% success rate at work (they have aggressive net nanny software) I don't think it'd fix my problem.

Plus the router has a web based login that so far we've only been able to get working with Windows XP, Vista, 7, Mobile 6, Mobile 6.1, Mobile 6.5 (unfinished builds) and Mac OSX (laptops and iPhones and iTouches) every Linux system and Android phone has been booted instantly after logging in.

Setting up my TP2 as a WiFi AP won't fix things either, when TMo 3G finally hits Columbia, SC I think I'd hit the caps on my "unlimited" data quickly with constant searching for just the right piece of music.

Waiting for a capacity upgrade will be tough! I want one now
