Yeah I have done that a couple times but it is like a 2 week process. This is the first time second chance actually worked for me. I also got the original winner to pay me the listing fee. As it turns out I didn't need that.

Wow - that's unexpected. Given that, I would probably give the guy neutral feedback at worst, and possibly even positive if he was very cordial throughout the deal. Of course, it's your feedback to give

That is what I should have done. However I was steaming when the stunt was pulled so they got a negative. Oh well maybe it will impress them not to do that anymore?

I don't think negative feedback is unwarranted where the buyer pulls out of the deal. eBay really isn't all that complicated - if you can't figure out that you "won a bet", then you need to start paying closer attention. The more likely scenario is that he found a phone for cheaper and simply wanted out of your auction. Nothing wrong with negative feedback for that.

Yeah that is kind of what I was thinking too. I'm not a huge seller there but I sell enough and I've had this happen to me at least 5 times out of 40 or so sales. I went through that dispute process twice and it does work, just takes a long time.
