Default Smartphone Tip-o-the-Day Blog

 Hi all,

I've starting a Smartphone "Tip-o-the-Day" blog at:

http://spaces.msn.com/members/lesgainous

It is syndicated and you can subscribe to it at:

http://spaces.msn.com/members/lesgainous/feed.rss

Just point your RSS reader/aggregator to the above RSS feed.

If you don’t have an RSS client or aggregator, this one is free and is written in C# . . .

SharpReader

Thanks!

Nice site Les... Why don't you add a link to your favourite Smartphone news and forum site?

Default Thanks for the daily thoughts

Shown below is how your info was presented to me on my pc. Although your tips are very worthwhile, sifting through all of the extraneous material is tedious. Can you help me receive it in clear text? My email is
dancingbob5678@hotmail.com

Edit: I removed the rather long RSS text document. In the future please post a short example or just describe what you're seeing. Thanks. MT :)

Hi dbob

Which RSS reader are you using? :?

You will only see the garbled (XML) text if you click on this link...
http://spaces.msn.com/members/lesgainous/feed.rss
and view it in the browser.

Once you put the above link in a RSS Reader like, Sharp Reader or RSSBandit.org, you will see properly formatted text.

Or even simpler just visit this URL.
http://spaces.msn.com/members/lesgainous
You will see regular web page with properly formatted text.

Kris

Default thanks for your reply

Kris:

Very thoughtful comments and suggestions.

Since I an new to both laptop and smartphone computing, perhaps you would consider including a bit more detail to your tips: the experts will skim over the extraneous ( for them) and the rest of us (or just I) will get the full benefit from your tips.

Also, would you please include a link for those of us without an RSS reader.
Bob

RSS Bandit is my favorite RSS Reader for desktop PC, it is free and available from here..
http://rssbandit.org/ow.asp?DownLoad (there is an installer zip link, current version is v1.2.0.117) :-)

Or you can go with Sharp Reader suggested by Les..
http://www.sharpreader.net/

Also News Gator is considered by many as a good reader for desktop PC. They also have a web based free version. Instead of desktop based application that you install on you laptop or PC. You can create a web account and using the browser you can collect all the news in the web based version. :-) Which I am begining to like. This way you can access your favorite news from any PC with internet access.

And in case you want to catch the news feeds on the Smartphone. Check out the this thread for tips or my comments. ;-)

For the Smartphone I would recommend RSS Home, available here
http://www.rsshome.com (they have pretty good how-to instructions)
