Default PPC Techs Lil' Sync USB Mobile Power Pack Released

http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~u...m~LSP-MPP01.htm

"Looking for renewable power to recharge your device while on the road? Use our USB Mobile Power Pack (MPP) with our Lil’ Sync® Retractable Sync-N-Charge Cable to charge your HP/Compaq iPAQ 110. Designed with the mobile user in mind, it utilizes Li-ION battery technology and fits in the palm of your hand. We've stuffed a full 4400 mA capacity into this small package. You can recharge the MPP via your computer's USB port or you can use our USB AC Adapter or USB Auto Adapter. The MPP has a three level LED indicator system that keeps you apprised of the level of charge remaining."

PPC Techs released a new product today, an external battery that will charge pretty much anything that uses USB power (Zune, phone, MP3 player, etc.), and I had the chance to test it over the past few days (mine lacks the swanky "Lil' Sync" logo however). Look for my Quick Look review on Monday morning. Have a great weekend everyone!

I've managed to finally have all my daily devices work via USB charging. So now, I have a compact wall charger and car charger as well as a device like this that works on AA's that I throw in my man bag every time. It is as close to standardized charger nirvana as I think I can get.

Looking forward to your review, Jason. I've been eyeing the Proporta USB Mobile Device Charger - for some time, but have never been able to commit to buying it.

But with this new product at
- larger capacity (4400 vs. 3400mAh)
- smaller size (2.75"x2.10"x0.86"=81cm³ vs. 100 x 62 x 15mm=93cm³)
- similar weight (4.3oz vs 4.2oz)
- coupled with the higher output (1000mAh vs. 700mAh) [good for charging my x51v and the same output as the Apple USB charger]
- and a near equal price($59.99 vs. $58.99)

I think it may be time to pull the trigger in prep for the 6 day road trip I have coming up.

Default Like it, but it's a "lightweight"

What about the 7200 mAh of mobile power pack goodness from Socket. I've been researching portable power solutions to last me through extended flights to place like Hawaii and other even farther, and hence longer duration, overseas flights. Came across battery packs from Kensington, and APC in addition to the PPC one you are talking about (even got an email on the PPC one since I have purchased from them before). However, it looks like the king of the hill is the one I discovered from Socket. Yes, it is far more expensive that even the PPC unit, but at nearly twice the capacity with a boatload of accessories in the kit, I think that is where my cash will go.

Sure would like to hear your thoughts on it though.

Yup, the Socket unit has a LOT of power, but it's also quite large - too large for my tastes. I think the PPC Techs battery is the best blend of size and power output I've seen yet. But your tastes may vary.
